Hare Krishna. Please accept my humble obeisances. In this new series I am trying to serve Lord by describing Life and Pastimes of His 12 Greatest Devotees popularly mentioned in Shastra as 12 Mahajan. There will be 12 sessions and in each session one Mahajan life and deeds will be described. Since YouTube videos more than 10 min are often overlooked I will divide each session in several episodes so that readers may enjoy each story better and relish their Pastimes. Pls see till end and let me know your comments. Enclosed the introduction episode.

Introduction:

Almost all of us are searching for 100% happiness and  0%  miseries  in our lives. But in reality our experience is completely different. In BG 8.15 Lord Krishna is narrating this world as Dukkhalaya Ashaswatam. Like in Himalya we get cold,in Vastralaya we get clothes similarly in Dukkhalaya we get only Sorrow or Dukkha. And this world is Ashaswatam which means temporary.  Hence even if we get some happiness the same is  momentary and Sorrow takes it over. Hence we need to understand the the Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krishna ,devotional service unto Him and His Devotees are all transcendental . Our mentality of Lording over material nature is artificial and it obstructs the path of knowing our true self. As we continue to think our material body as our true self, we toil hard to satisfy our bodily needs and even over endeavor to collect material possession much more than what we need. Ultimately these material possessions ,whether food/money/fame/praise/followers etc are all property of Lord and He has sanctioned only a certain quota for each one of us.When we start amassing more than our Quota we fall in a vicious cycle and that cycle compels us to go through repetitive birth, death, disease and Old age cycle. The only way to get rid of this cycle is to follow regulative principles, engage our body ,mind, senses in Services of Lord Krishna & practice devotional service  so  that we can break this cycle and return to our Spiritual home : back to God Head.

The Supreme personality of Godhead Sri Krishna is fully transcendental and is served by pure spirit soul by means of devotional service That pure devotional service has to be  unmotivated, uninterrupted and to completely satisfy the Lord. Now how do we know how these services are?

For that reason in History there were 12 Mahajan( Great Souls) who were pure Vaishnavas and have lead their devotional service with exemplary commitment. If we follow their path then we shall also achieve the greatest reward Krishna Prem. These 12 Mahajans  as per Bhagavat Purana 6.3.20-21 are Brahma, Narada, Shiva, the Four Kumaras, Kapila, Svayambhuva Manu, Prahlada, Janaka, Bhishma, Bali, Śuka, and Yama.

The path traversed by these 12 Mahajanas are actually our Sanatana Dharma which claims that the supreme occupation( dharma) for all humanity is that by which men can attain loving devotional service unto the transcendent Lord.

In this You Tube Series we shall try to discuss their lives, their pastimes and will like to learn lesson from their lives so that we know the way to look for Sat Chit and Ananda.

This Session we shall divide in 12 episodes and each episode will contain each Mahajan’s Lives.

Before Starting the session I would like to offer my obeisance to our Guru Srila Prabhupad and also numerous Senior Vaishnavas without whose description in different books, and their  mercy I could not be able to say a single word. I am not even qualified to discuss such subject as I am most fallen among all Vaishnavas.. But I am still saying this so that my tongue and mind gets purified and also please bless us that whatever I say is as per Disciplic Succession ( Parampara) and if I make mistake please forgive me. If you like this series please give credit to Guru and Gauranga and if you dislike this ,it is because of my incompetence of describing such a vast subject.

In SriMad Bhagavatam : Yamarja mentioned:

"svayambhūr nāradaḥ śambhuḥkumāraḥ kapilo manuḥprahlādo janako bhīṣmobalir vaiyāsakir vayamdvādaśaite vijānīmodharmaṁ bhāgavataṁ bhaṭāḥguhyaṁ viśuddhaṁ durbodhaṁyaṁ jñātvāmṛtam aśnute .Lord Brahmā, Bhagavān Nārada, Lord Śiva, the four Kumāras, Lord Kapila [the son of Devahūti], Svāyambhuva Manu, Prahlāda Mahārāja, Janaka Mahārāja, Grandfather Bhīṣma, Bali Mahārāja, Śukadeva Gosvāmī and I myself know the real religious principle. "

"My dear servants, this transcendental religious principle, which is known as bhāgavata-dharma, or surrender unto the Supreme Lord and love for Him, is uncontaminated by the material modes of nature. It is very confidential and difficult for ordinary human beings to understand, but if by chance one fortunately understands it, he is immediately liberated, and thus he returns home, back to Godhead."
